Joelle Beard’s Marathon Swim Story

In her own words:

My name is Joelle Beard. I have swum the triple crown of open water swimming. I have done several other ocean marathon swims as well as some lake swims. For one of my swims, across Gibraltar, I was able to donate money to help refugees. A year later, I got a letter from a refugee saying my donation was able to help her flee Syria and get out of the refugee camp and into the US.  I currently coach high school swimming and Special Olympic swimming.
