Deep Dive: Janine’s Journey to Tahoe
Welcome to Marathon Swim Stories where we explore the human side of the super human feats of endurance swimmers, and those who support them.
As part of the human side, it’s important to me to highlight the fact that marathon swimming isn’t always about setting records, pioneering routes, completing iconic swims, or checking off swims on lists like the Triple Crown or Oceans Seven.
It’s about pushing yourself.
Investigating what you’re capable of.
Finding your personal limits.
Today’s guest swims marathons because she can. Janine Serell, found her “happy place” in marathon swimming midlife and she’s on a mission to find her limit. Even at around 9 hours, her longest swim to date, she’s still happy. So she wants more.
Tune in to the first and second in a four part series of Janine’s Journey to swim the 21 mile length of Lake Tahoe.
If you haven’t already, be sure to catch Janine’s Marathon Swim Story. She was one of my early guests, way back in April, 2020.
I hope you enjoy following Janine’s Journey!
