Carolyn’s Journey to Derwent

Carolyn’s Journey to Derwent

Since were nestling in for winter here in the Northern hemisphere, trekking to the swimming pool in the dark, perhaps mustering the fortitude for a dip in chilly waters, I thought it would be fun to follow a journey on the other side of the world where they are getting ready for summer.

We met Carolyn Anderson a few weeks ago – a mom and band teacher in Australia, she completed Rottnest in 2020 and has decided to tackle her fears of the cold water in her first solo marathon swim.

I hope you enjoy the 3 parts series of Carolyn’s Journey to swim the 34km down the Derwent River, listed as one of the “Toughest Thirteen” by the Marathon Swimmers Federation.

Enjoy!
