Deep Dive: Brisbane Swimmers take on the Derwent River
Hello, hello! I’m just back from a week in Mexico swimming and doing yoga every day. If I close my eyes I can still feel the waves and the sensation of flying through the water. It was quite a experience. I wish you’d been there!
But alas, today I’m back in rainy Southern Oregon contemplating what was learned and what’s next. If you’d like to hear about it, hop over to http://intrepidwater.com and join my email list to get Lessons from the Water delivered straight to your inbox each week. I dig into the transformative capacity that swimming can have on our life when we have the courage to stand at the edge of a body of water and take the first stoke.
If you’ve been a listener for awhile, you know well that marathon swimmers come from all walks of life, some start swimming when they’re tots, maybe take a break and come back, others find their way to the water mid life.
In our deep dive episode today I am joined by an adventurous group of swimmers from Brisbane, Australia who decided to tackle the 15km swim down the Derwent River in Tasmania. And Several of them just started swimming in the last few years!
The swimmers were Supported by SwimMastery coach Melissa Donaldson and SwimMastery founder Tracey Baumann, through technique sessions at the SwimMastery Swim Studio in Brisbane as well as a 12 week training program that we touch on in our conversation.
I hope that you enjoy today’s deep dive of how the Brisbane Swimmers took on the Derwent River.
